Default convertable?

Hey. I have an 03 vert, and i was wondering if it is worth it to throw my subs in the trunk? I have never had a rag top before, so I apologize for sounding like such a newbie. I have 2 12" infinity reference subs with a Kenwood 800 watt amp. It sounded really nice in my sunfire. I am worried about 2 things.

1. Is there any chance that when i have the top down that the vibration can cause the back window to hit something and break(a friend with a 98 had a killer stereo and it shattered his back window)?

2. Will subs sound even half way decent in a convertable?

Thanks for the help!

I've got a '97 convertible, subs in the trunk will sound like having subs in a kingcab truck, if you have a good set-up it will sound just fine. With your convertible you can say goodbye to your trunk completely with 2/12" subs. Might be a lil more than you need. I don't see how your friend busted out his glass though, I wouldn't worry about it unless you are making some serious rattle.

I have a 04 vert with the Mach 1000 stereo, anyway they put the rack of amps and the 2 10" subs in the trunk and it sounds great. I only have enough room left for a sixpack of beer. But I wouldn't trade it for anything

Thanks everyone...I got the subs in the trunk. It took a little finess and a lot of cursing, but the subs are in, and they are way too much. I had this set up in my sunfire and it sounded good, but it is way more than needed in this stang. I have the amp set with the bass boost off, the gain at about 1/4, and the bass from the head unit all the way down, and its still crazt loud. I had a penny jumping 2 inches off of my trunk. I have decided to sell the setup and get some flowmaster 40 series....thats my kinda music right there. Thanks to everyone for the help!
