Ideas for a system
As for the wiring, I went with 4 guage from the battery to the back seat and split that into 2 8gauge wires to feed the two amps. That should work still, right? I've always heard mixed things about caps. What's yall's take on them?

Yeah it would be ideal to have each of them with a 4 ga. But 8 ga. will work for those.
CDT and Eclipse have been around a while I thought.
CD3100 is a nice piece, definatly Eclipse' bang for the buck head unit.
They might have been...I just never really heard of them and therefore don't really know much about their products yet. I definitely like the look of that head unit.
Not having a rear stage in any car is what you'll get from all of us, it's money you can invest into a better front stage. Thats the simplest and best reason, but we have many more reasons if you want to know them!
I preferred my front stage in my '95. I did it b/c I didn't like how the sub was interfering with the rears so I pitched them. As for the 6.5's in the front, what kind of adapter will I need for those CDTs?
You should just be able to make a bracket to hold them in place of the 6x8's. Hifonics and eclipse have been around forever. Hifonics has made great amps for a long time, the quality is a little lower now they are made in china, but still awesome bang for the buck. Eclipse has been winning sq comps for as long as I've been in audio. CDT just rocks.
All of these brands have been around for at least 5 years.
Hiss,
I love you too.

Are there any 5.25 components that you would recommend for this setup? That way I dont have to fabricate a bracket from scratch? Does anyone have a template or anything I can go by for the bracket so I can get the 6.5s? Does anyone have a good wiring kit for this?
Dude, if you can use a jig saw, you can make a bracket...
1. Go buy a high density fiberboard clipboard from wal-mart for like $2.00
2. Trace your 6x8 stocker onto the clipboard (you should be able to fit both, i have) and cut the shape out. (Also drill out the mounting holes)
3. Trace the 6.5 in the best possible location and try to place the tweeter on the same board( I have used the existing mouning holes before)
4. Get the speaker cutout diameter of you woofer.
5. Make a template (a circle) of the cutout, trace it in the center of the circle you made for the outside diamter of the woofer. (Mark mounting holes but do not drill)
6. Drill a large hole on the edge of the cut out and use a jug saw to cut out the hole.
7. Done
It took more time to write that then to make one.
