The clipboard will be thick enough to compensate for the depth of the speakers too? Never thought about using a clipboard...genius! I plan on mounting the tweeters in the triangle plastic piece of the door so they're up high. If I have any issues with the bracket, I know where to come

For the sub, any suggestions on location in the trunk? I would like to put it in one of the corners...like the Thunderform.

I think I will start ordering this stuff this weekend. Thanks for the help!

Mounting the tweet on the sail panel is even better, just make sure you attenuate the tweeter to -3 or -5 db to compensate for the lower distance to your face.

The clipboard is almost .25 inch and is high density fiberboard, which is stronger then mdf. You can follow the same instructions for the .5 inch mdf panel.

I would also suggest the eclipse cd3000, I have the same unit and love it. Its easy to use, and looks pretty good. As far as everything else, Im a kicker guy and I would suggest kicker, but there are alot of other good names out there. Id do:

Head Unit: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_id=4951

Subs: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00097A55Y/...p;linkCode=asn

Amp: http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?...&aff=45847this will power your subs and components

Components: http://www.techronics.com/index.cfm?...Product_ID=569

Box materials: 3/4" MDF40 bucks or so for a sheet. Wood glue and nails for gun probably 10-15 bucks

wire/rca's/fuse/fuse holder: 100 bucks at most

thats 893.59 plus shipping and its all good brand **** with warranties.

Thats not a bad setup if your sponsered by kicker but I have some comments.....

I have that sub in my sisters car. Its ok, but nothing compared to the sub I recommended.

Kicker amps are ok, but are priced really high for made in china watts.

That line of kicker comps would be ok, but really not on the same level as entry level CDT and I never seen them in a SQ car.

I would really evaluate the though of being a "kicker guy". If you are limiting your recomendations and purchases based on a brand, that is a very very poor way to evaluate a potential installation.

I see what your sayin preal. Im not tryin to hype kicker or anything, I worked at a car audio shop for 2 years as an installer and we primarly sold kicker so most of the setups we did were kicker. Im sure if he spends 1k or close to it on a setup and doesnt get ripped off like so many shops like to do than he should have a pretty badass setup regardless of brand. I would agree that kicker isnt usually budget friendly. good luck with the sounds Pikuoff

Boosted, your good man. There is nothing wrong with supporting a brand you like, but I would be very careful doing it almost blind.

It's sort of like GM owners that still think they are getting an engine as reliable as a carbed 350. It just isn't like it used to be.

Stillwater Designs aka kicker used to be top notch equipment, the round solo's are awesome, but when they fell prey to the marketing hype thier product suffered a lot.

I agree with you on that. It seems alot of companies are doing that, and not just car audio. It seems theyre are more interested in making money than pleasing the customer. Honestly when I worked at the car audio shop, the best part was getting to see the customer listen to the system for the first time. They get that big smile on there face. My boss was the guy that just wanted to make money and I was the guy that just wanted to make the customer happy.

The sad part is, most shops have to resort to selling people worse equipment for more given the marketing hype that follows so many "mainstream" brands.

we would have people come in and price out a setup, we would give them a hell of a deal on good ****. A week later they would call and say " yeah, so I went to best buy and got an awesome deal on some subs and an amp" But actually bought some cheap **** for more than what its worth. You know most of the customers are young kids that really dont know much about car audio, they just want it loud and shops take advantage of that and talk a bunch of b/s. That used to **** me off. I could care less if they bought from us, its just that they thought they were gettin a better deal. Oh well, im not in that business any more. I still enjoy installing, but only in my car.

Whats great about that though, is when you get the young kid to actually buy from you, he goes out and shows his friends.
Guess whos is....
Just as loud
Sounds much better
Looks much much better
And is going to last much longer

Then that kid that walked away from what you setup for them comes back in and you get to say "I told you so."

Thats a sweet ending I have seen played out numerous times.
