Default Alarm/interior lights problemse the

I've posted this in a couple other sections with zero help from anyone so hopfully the right people vist in here.

96 GT Vert

I have a Code alarm that was installed before I bought the car. None of my interior lights work. the bulbs are good, just no power. The lights that do work are the Glovebox and all of my dash illums work guages/havc etc. All my wiring to my rearview mirrow seems to be in order but it still doesn't work. My curtesy dinger goes off if the doors open and the keys in the ignition. Where do I start? I have checked and rechecked Every fues or relay and they all are working correctly.... I thought maybe the alarm is supposed to be wired into the alarm and could be disconnected but I don't know enough of alarms to tell whats what.

Please Help

Mike

you came to the right place, I own a 94 gt and it was my first alarm I ever installed when the car was ne with many to follow, and it happens to be a code alarm..........

This does sound strange as my first thought was that your key reminder probably didn't work either and it was a fuse but.............

Lets start simple and work our way through it. I would assume that the entire light assembly would be grounded probably right above themirrir, have you checked it out?

Now on hard tops there is the dome light that goes on with the door and then there are the map lights as well that do not turn on with the doors but by the switch. Is the convertable similar to this? Do any of the lights work?

have you poked your head under the dash to see what the wiring looks like to see how well it was installed? The majority of the wiring is in the steering colum and in the drivers kick panel, I would look around there first.....

Thanks, The mirror is grounded and pluged in correctly. The Verts don't have a dome light, just the mirror but it should still switch on like a dome light. The only other light that works besides my dash lights is my glovebox. The kick panel lights and mirror lights don't work. The drivers kickpanellooks like they just threw the alarm up there, the sensor actually used to come down and get under my foot while I was cluching. Not the best install thats for sure... Everything else in the car operates fine and I haven't had any other electrical issues.

I thought maybe there was a wire that you hook up to an alarm for when you unlock the car that makes the interior lights come on. I've looked for this wire (if there is one) but have come up empty every time.

thanks
