Default Multiple Size Subs Setups

Why is it that most of the community is against having subs of different sizes? As I understand it, cross overs or wiring can be a problem? I figure that if you combine smaller subs with larger subs, you'll have a system that hits hard, quick, and can hit highs and lows effectively. Obviously your speakers would have to be pretty loud to compensate. Is it still a problem if you amplify each sub/each respective size separately? Thanks

You just have to make sure the diffrent size subs dont share an enclosure unless it has a seperator or it defeats the purpose. Multiple sizes has great fill. You will prolly need seperate amps for each though to do it correctly

Ok brother.

Aten inch driver does not soundtigher than a fifteen inch driver.

Vice versa, a fifteen inch driver does not always slam lower notes than a ten inch driver.

It is all in the box design.

Go back to car audio 101, i.e. the sticky, and then come back and talk to us.

You have got to be more in depth than that.

Yes, thats very vague.

I mean yeah you can do say a 15", 12", 10" and an8". But it's a waste of time and money, the notes the 8" excells in that the 15" shouldn't play, wont be loud enough to over come the bass the 15" is still putting out.

It's like shooting a guy with a .50 cal and then topping it off by shooting a slingshot at him. It's a lost cause.

It is all in the box design.
Biggest thing for sure. Thats why you can take a 6" woofer and put it in the right box and it will be as loud as a crappy 12" in a crappy box.

Not to mention you will have cancellation isuues in the trunk. The bigger sub will definitely overpower the smaller.

For example you want to do 2x12 and 2x8 you are better of doing 4x10"

You want all your subs hitting the same way.
Hope this shelps.
