Default 07 shaker 500 problem

I'm not sure how to describe this problem. My stereo sounds like the volume drops downat odd times. It almost sounds like it's going from stereo to mono, but the stereo signal light stays constant. It only does it on FM. Not Satallite or CD. I made sure that the speed volume control or whatever that's called is off, so I know that's not it. The service mngr heard it too and replaced the head unit last week. It still does the same thing like it did before.
Any help on this would be appreciated.

Don't lose hope yet, friend.

I had a similar thing happen, but in my Explorer. I guess in the Explorers (and maybe the Mustangs too), instead of the speaker wires running directly from the head unit to the speakers, they run from the head unit to a bypass on each side, which then routs to the speaker wires. Like a wiring harness for each side. Anyway, in my case, that connection was bad, and when I'd hit a bump, it would only go to my right side, no left sound. Hit a bump 30 sec later, fine again.

Hope this helps some...stupid electrical gremlins!

Don't mean for this to be insulting in any way. Any chance it's the FM station you are tuned to? I ask, because I constantly bounce between two local stations. One is alway strong, the other fades in and out volume wise, but doesn't fade to the point were it gets static.

Thanks for the ideas. I'll have the service mngr check the wiring. As far as it being the station. I liked that idea. It would have been an easy fix. Just stay on satallite. My wife hates satallite. I love it. We live in the DFW metro-plex,, so signal shouldn't be a ploblem. Plus, she said it does it on all the 4-5 stations she listens to.
Hopefully the dealer shop can get this figured out.
