Problem installing JVC deck in 85 Mustang
Okay I found the harness with the power wires and such, here are the pics:

Does this means something to you? I know the yellow is the 12 v constant, red is switch, black ground, blue amp, orange dimmer/illum. These are labeled as such and I've done a bunch of searching regardless.
I just assume that the red and yellow have to come from the car, into this harness, and the hookups from the deck harness connect to here.

alright.
the harness you have in your hand goes into the black one inside the dash. you take the wires comming from the cd player itself and connect those.
im going to make a diagram.

Thank you very much.
And where is this black one inside the dash? Are you sure I would have something like this? It's an 85, a different ball of wax from 87-93.
Also, that wide end there doesn't match anything inside the car, but the narrow one does... just not sure where it's supposed to connect to, where to find it, etc.

I will have to take a look in the morning, thanks again.
There is a mess of wires down there, a bunch cut, etc, but hopefully I can find what I need. If it comes down to it, I'll take more pics.

Alright, the update. lol
Didn't find the hookups anywhere. I went to work this morning, had a coworker who used to install this stuff for a living help look around with me, and he didn't find it either. Previous owner(s) have made a hack job from the wiring. Nevertheless, we got the voltmeter out and starting testing like mad.
Fun fact: Turns out the yellow wire coming from my car is the accessory, the blue with a white stripe is the constant.
Tested the power connections on the yellow with ignition in, gave us 12 v, tested the black connector that came with the deck: 4v. So, took the harness back, got a new one, installed, hacked on to the blue constant and turned the key and voila, works like a charm.
Voltmeter saved my butt, glad I picked one up.

where did you get that hrns? That looks like something to convert the old ford hrns into a newer one, I have never seen one like you have. Look under the spot for the radio and see if there is a octagonally shaped box with a bunch of holes in it, as well as under the seats, that is your amp if you have one. The wiring in there is probably all hacked up because a 85 would have a common ground wiring system and require re-wiring it to get any normal floating ground radio in it.
