Default top speakers in stang..

I just got my car out of the stereo shop today in an attempt to get the tweeters to work because the previous owner had them unhooked b/c of a complication with the new cd player he put in. Today the installer told me that I couldn't get these tweeters working without messing them up. I thought I've heard some of you guys say otherwise if you know what you're doing... Is I right here?
I tried to search for a thread that explained it, and didn't see one that I understood. Is there a specific thread that can help me out? Starting to get really frustrated... thanks

hes full of crap. just pop your door panels off, get a lighter and melt a small section of both wires going to the main speaker in your door and connect the pos on the tweeter to the pos on the door speakers wires, neg to neg. solder them, tape em up, and ur good. ive done it that way in 2 cars now (and will in this one once i start getting my system put in) and i havent had a prob.

you might want to put something in there to block the bass from goingto the tweeter.if you look at most2 way speakers they have a cap in them.

ah I dunno if I would recommend that. You will need some kind of cross over on those or they will sound really bad with only a little bit of bass. What is in the car now as fat as equipment?

ya hadn't had time to try it yet..
All I have is an aftermarket cd player, and alpine front and rear speakers, along with the stock mach 460 tweeters. The car haswires ran for sub and amp from a previous owner, but there is no equipment there.

One of the installers said that I couldput some aftermarkettweeters in there and make it work.Is my problem just the mach 460 tweeters or is it a sales pitch?

I would take an ohm meter to the speakers and see what you have. It is a 4 ohm speaker so it should be fine with any radio but you can upgrade them if you wish.

do you have the alpine speakers powered via an amp? they sound best that way.
