Default Radio woes

hey, on my '91 vert, there i anelectrical problem that I have found...

when I bought it, there was not a radio so I put my head unit in, only I had to splice it into the harness.... now whenever I turn the lights on the power to the radio cuts out.... I figure the wires are crossing somewhere, so if I were to run a new wire from the fusebox (#11, I think)to the radio, would that fix my problem, or would I need a new pigtail with the plugs attached so I can get an adapter kit?

sounds like your dimmer wire is not working correctly. Check your power wires with a voltmeter and check them with the key off, on, and then with the lights on. The dimmer wire will look like a ground until the lights are turned on and then it goes from 8-12v.
