Default Alpine IVA D300 install question

I recently purchased an IVA D300 flip out dvd/cd player. The unit is able to cut off differant frequencys so i can better tune the system. My problem is, a while back i installed bass blockers on my door speakers and tweeters(should have just waited I know) and now im wondering if I should remove the bass blockers i have now and adjust it with the HU or just adjust it with the HU and leave the bass blockers on?

it is hard to give advise on what would sound best with out a list to know what is in the car. I know you HU but what else are we working with? Often turning on the x-over setups means you have to have everything wired a certain way to make it work and get full sound.

well basically everything is stock mach 460 i added a 110v2 and a nine2 amp. All speakers are stock. I have the fader on just the front and on my tweeters i have 2800hz bass blockers and on the doors i have 300hz. I could take all of the blockers off of the speakers and put it back to stock. Im just wondering if it would hurt to leave them on because its kind of a bitc# to take off all the door panels and everything if it wont really make a diffferance.

is that a high or low pass on the doors at 300 hz? Is it a cap or a coil?

ok, so lets take a look at your system then.

your deck puts out a full range signal that is then fed to the factory amps. The factory amps also have a LOWPASS x-over built into them to allow the factory subs to play the portion of the signal that they are desinged to. That lowpas signal that is normall fed to the subs hits that cap you installed which then takes out all of the bass from the signal(300hz is ALL of your bass[:@]).

so now you tell me, what is your factory subs playin[:-]? I am askin you because I have never had anyone put a lowpass and highpass x-over together like this so I am really really curious as to what that speaker is indeed playing?

yes you should. I imagine that they play a small section of frequencies between the two but you are loosing all you bass up front. The front woofers don't do as much as the rear since they lack the sealed enclosure but you will get much better sound with the blockers off. The tweets need them, not the woofers.
