damn. you guys are ********. all i asked for was a general guideline for how many dbs per watts. idk if you hate kicker. i dont care if you love your off-brand crap. ive read your other posts and hey, thats great. all i wanted to know was how loud it will be.

and i know JL is better than kicker.

If this were the case then we and everyone would have 100 super crappy "2000 watt" amplifiers. Watts=dB is like saying infinite=x. It will never happen, there is no math that can every tell you that outside of a mic. If you put 110,000 watts to a system and are an amateur, a vet could blow your *** away with 5,000. It's all in what you do with it, were not being ******** were helping you like a big brother, were doing it, and being blunt about it. You want to be louder than your friends and 99% of the people you know, we can get you there easy. But you can't have the attitude you have wanting that.

With adding what you want, you will literally gain 2 db's if that. And were talking a real mic, not one of those alarm clock $50 ebay deals. I did 148 on one of those did the exact same system on a real mic and did 137 2 weeks later.

Have fun with your Kicker, there will be some kid that did his research and spent $800 on a system we would suggest that is a "no name" that will be doing 8 more db's than you and sound days better.

Pull the no-name card, try and find a time when Kicker tripled their sales from one year to the next, find Kicker in magazines where every product tested is a 9.0 out of 10 or higher. Try and find kicker with 5 years in the business destroying businesses that have been around for 30. Ask kicker if their owner isa 2001 high school graduate. Keep saying it's no name, it will be in your car in the next 2 years once you get your head out of your ***, and you will be pissed off you didnt save your time and money and took some advice from people that have been there and done exactly what your doing right now.

KICKER AND JL are the shiznit, been running both for 17 years, 12 differant vehicles $4000+each vehicle, never let me down yet. notwanting the everlasting audio section pissing match but they do make good products. L7's, W6,7 theonly JL and Kicker products worth running though. and that's all i have to say about that.

 

Im glad kicker and jl has worked out for you but to say there anything other then mid level junk is going to far. Yes it will do the job (most of the times) but give me 4000$ and i could beat any jl or kicker based system in all cats sq-sql-spl its just a proven fact. No pissing match here just the truth. People buy and swear by kicker,jl,rf cause thats all you hear about cause kicker and rf have been pushing junk audio for years and after awhile people just got use to the junk and accepted it as good audio. I guess good junk is better then bad junk but either way you look at it its still mass prod junk. I feel kicker and alike companys have killed audio if you except junk then they will continue to make junk and junk audio is a dime a dozen these days. I will say early 90's rf and kicker were quality products for there time.

 

I don't know about saying JL is just mid level junk, granted I've never liked JL audio I'll give them more credit than that...

I know If I was trying to make something crazy with 4grand I would probablly go with RE,DD,FI, or Image Dynamics

 

I will admit jl has better quality control then kicker but for the price and performance u get from a jl sub or amp its just junk. Plus u ever had to recone a w7????? Well if you own one long enough you will and guess what jl charges 400$ for a recone not including shipping thats a price of a new one. If i want quality sq subsi would look no further then focal amazing output and clarity that makes jl sound like audioblah.

 

JL is VERY good. until you look at what you can get for your money elsewhere.
