Mach 1000 Harness question

Mach 1000 Harness question
Ok....so my other harness plug which is for the amps and stuff.......It has 4 pins in it and one rca jack. My questiton is.........do i need a 8 PIN PLUG??????!!!!
The reason I ask this is because my subs and amps are not working? When I checked the back of the stock head unit, it had 8 pins and my harness plug only has 4 thus making me believe maybe that's my problem.
