Default Sub box maximum dimensions?

I have a buddy who has a 1996 mustang coupe and i offerd to install his stereo for him. As of right now he has 2 12" mtx subs and im going to sell him my amp alpine mrp-m650 amp and install it all for him. I figured out all the basics for the wiring from the infomation sticky but now im wondering how big of a box can i fit into the trunk. What are the maximum heigh, width, and depth the box can be to fit in the trunk without to many problems? I was thinking about purchasing this box for him because its the smallest box i could find. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+2H12-1.5.html Will that fit? Its a wedge style 8"TD-13"BD x 28"W x 13"H. Thx in advance
Tom

I think your only shot with that box would be to put it through the rear seat opening. I don't remember what the exact dimensions are but I thought the opening was 10 inches tall, and 26 inches long. It might fit if you turn it sideways and lay it down.

Best option is probably to get two separate boxes, and put them in one at a time... Remeber to find a box that's appropriate for the sub. Not just the bigest looking one of the bunch. The enclosure is a major factor into determining what you will get out of the sub.

I know ive built many custom enclosures before. Im not going this far for his setup though. He listens to mostly rock so the sealed enclosured should work well. MTX recommends .75ft-1.5ft in a sealed box for these subs. So any of those boxes should be fine. So it sounds like the main problme is the height of the box(s). So the pass thru is the best way to go about it and its only 10" tall? How wide is it? It seems pretty clear that the 2 sepreate enclosures idea would be the safest route to go about this.

max height was 13" I beleive, 34" across and I don't know what I did for the depth. It was for an image dynamics 12 and I think it was around .8 cu ft and it just barely fit in. If I had a box made for 2 subs it would not have fit, but I could have built another box the same size and mount it next to it.

Going through the back seat will not get you any more room, don't know why people suggest it.....

Well I Think If You Get That Box You Will Have Trouble Gettting It in your Trunk...If You Are Goin To Get A Dual Box Go Inside Your Car And Drop You Backseats Down And Measure under your rear speakers and in my opinon its probably a lot easier to put the subs in your trunk that way rather than opening the trunk itself...thats what i would do...or you could make a custom box..i am sure you can search google and find how to make a box.

You have like 11" with the backseat in, if you take it out you get 14-15", but then if you have the Mach you get kicked in the ***** cause you then only get about 12 1/2"
