Installing amp w/ factory tape.. power for turn on switch lead
Looking to install an amp to the factory tape deck. Where can I pull a power source to connect the amp's switch to? Would really like to use one off the radio.

Usually the cigarrete lighter's power wire is a good place to start.
edit:
By switch, I assume you meant the Amp's turn-on wire... as opposed to the main power wire that should be run on a properly fused cable (Hi PReal!) from the battery

The amps power source is from its 12v constant wire which HAS to be hooked up to the battery. The amps remote wire can go to teh fuse box but it would be better to run it behind the radio so that when you swap out the factory deck the wire is already there.... The wire colors in fords radios has never matched any schematics that I had to look at. They had toomany options between the regular to mach to where they are never the same. To find the +12 wire you will need to probe a couple of wires to correctly diagnose which wire is correct but even if I could give you a color you should still test it to make sure that it is correct. It will show up as a ground with the key off, and then show +12 with the key on. You are correct that the amp will turn off seperatly from the radio but this will not hurt anything.
We really should start by asking if this is a mach system or not?
