Default strange amp problem

this isnt for my mach, but for my f-250. i put a mtx thunderlink in there the other day. im using the stock deck.

i ran 4 pairs of wire (one for each door speaker) from the stock deck to the hi-level inputs on the amp. hooked it all up. then when turned the truck on, i got no sound whatsover. none from the sub and none from the door speakers.

the amp has two harnesses for hi-level input. if i unplug the right harness the right door speakers come on and the sub hits with signal from the left harness. if i plug the right harness back in the right door speakers stay on and the sub continues to hit with signal from both left and right harnesses.

i can repeat this for the left harness to get the left door speakers to come on. this makes no sense to me.

also if i leave the harnesses out of the amp and start the truck, i get no sound from anywhere until i plug the harnesses into the amp. then both the sub and door speakers come on at the same time.

i dont get it. any info would be helpful. i bought a line out converter and will try running rcas 2maro and see if there is a change. thanks in advance.

Weird...
You can always try getting a replacement (Assuming you didn't ebay the item...)

can you see the speakers moving? It sounds as though you have the speakers wired out of phase which means that for every inch one speaker goes forward, you have another one going backward the exact same amount resulting in no difference in airpressure and no sound even though the speakers are working to full potential.

IT is alsoSuper important to have good connections at the speakers. Crimp is acceptable, solder prefered and anything else is doomed to fail........

everything was wired correctly, in phase, and had good connections. to make a long story short, i took it to a couple shops around here to see what they thought and they were stumped. best answer i got was the amp is defective. anyway... installed the loc afterwards, ran the rcas instead of the line level inputs and everything works fine. i suppose the line level inputs on the amp must have been garbage. oh well, had me and a bunch of people scratching our heads though.
