Stereo NOISE!?!
OK.....I just bought a new Pioneer p7000bt stereo, and I am getting BIG TIME Noise when the motor is on. It is high-pitched sound that increases with the motor, so it is definitely coming from the motor.........but can it be the amp?
Here is my environment....
I had a Kenwood deck, plugged into a Rockford 4-channel amp, with new Rockford wiring to every speaker. My power lines run down ones side the car, the signals/speakers on the other.
My old system sounded AWESOME! I changed my deck, and I am getting NOISE!>!
- So, to troubleshoot, I ran a straight wire to my battery.....same thing.
- I tried a different RCA-Jack signal wire.....same thing
- I am guessing that the noise is coming from the power............will a noise filter help that? I can see a filter will help a little bit, but now it is LOUD!!!!!
What should I do next?

common places for noise to be introduced are if you have the rca and power wires next to each other. I would also check the amp grounds as well as the factory grounds up by the battery. They tend to be small and can develope corrosion between them that causes problems.
What is the gain of the amp set at, and are you running and kind of MSD or larger coil?

Amp grounds are solid.......factory grounds.........I am not sure. The thing that gets me is the old Kenwood deck ran perfect. What is new with the newer deck? My Kenwood is from 2002?!?
I do have an MSD6al box.............I thought that may be the culprit......but my old deck worked great, is my new Pioneer not as durable???????
What do you think about noise filters?
In my shop i seen lots of pioneer decks have this problem, when hooked up to an amp. Yes check your grounds make sure there not lose and to bare mental. but if you try new rcas and checked the ground then it may be the radio. the reason why you may not have had a problem with your kenwood deck is bc the "build in nosie filter" on that deck may have been better. I love pioneer headunits. i have one myself but sometimes you run into that problem with them. If you can exchange it try that(its a nice deck)or go to a different brand almost any of these new headunits you can add the bluetooth.
Noise filter may help but there more of a band aid fix, just hinds the problem.
hope this helps out.

Your voltage regulator in the alternator is prolly bad. You can confirm this by unplugging the alternator then run the car. It should run fine for awhile off the battery. If the sound goes away replace the alternator or have it rebuilt

And if it was bad, wouldn't my old deck have been doing the same thing? (which it didn't)
Definitely worth a shot though........thanks!
I have been messing with it this morning......
If I turn the key on, I get the noise..........start the car, its louder. When I unplug my amp, it goes away......
I am thinking it may be the signal wire. What do you think about ground loop isolator:
