Default 99 to 01+ Radio Conversion

Ok, I have a 99 cobra with the single din setup with the slave cd player below and im tired of the thing eating my cd's. I bought the bezel to change it to a double din. I bought me a Pioneer AVIC F700BT. What else do I need to do to convert it and install? I'd also like to override that stupid ebrake crap too if anyone knows how to do it.

it is a simple bolt in as far as installation goes. There is a screw easily missed behind the radio that you will need to remove to pull the bezel out.

I assume you have a mach system since you have the slave unit. Page 2 of my cardomain page covers the mach system and the wiring should be the same.

If you have questions or comments about that page please leave a comment if there is anything I could change to help.

i see u only replaced the headunit but left it a single din setup. i am making it one big hole with a big *** nav unit. ive heard stories of having to remove pieces of the dash and whatnot in order to fit it but im not 100% on that. Im also not 100% on the mounting brackets etc for a bigger unit. I wonder if circuit city would know what to do haha

Hey i have a double din in my 2000 mustang and it was pretty easy just remove the old bezel and get a new one from a 01 or better stang. There is a bar across the dash behind the bezel you have to remove this for the new bezel to fit. AFter this im pretty sure your done besides hooking up your unit and putting it through the double din whole. Any other questions let me know.

if you wanna override the e brake safety switch on the head unit, run a wire from the battery to the wire for the e brake and have a switch under the dash or something.

yeah i have the bezel already im waiting for arrival. i also am aware i need to cut out that bar behind the bezel. but i need to find a way to bracket the new nav unit in there without it disappearing behind the dash haha

What size screen u got comn? Mine i didnt have to build a bracket it sits in there perfect. IT can go anywhere because its outer edge is against the bezel
