Installation Questions Help!!
Hey guys i'm thinking about buying a Pioneer AVIC F900BT with Satellite radio and a backup camera and have a few questions. First off, would this be something I could install myself relatively easily? I have a lot of mechanical knowledge and tools but have never really messed with anything electronic, at least like this.
Second, I've read that I would need a Metra 70-5519 wire harness and Metra 95-5026 dash kit in order to get it to work in my 01' GT with my Mach 460. Is this true? Are there any other parts or tools that won't come with the unit that I am sure to need before attempting the install? Anyone know where I could find any type of instructions for doing this? Any tips about the install? Let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

Page 2 of my cardomain page shows how to put a deck into the mach, there are a few different ways. Your wiring hrns's may be a little different but he equipment is all the same. please leave any comments on there if there is anything you do not understand about it and I will be happy to make improvements.
If you have never done it and you don't have any body to help most Audio shops will install that for about 100. I don't have any experience with the AVIC model as I deal mainly in alpine equipment but I do know there are a few tricky areas you might just want to avoid the hassel. If you do choose to tackle this on your own make sure you have some basic electrical know how, if push come to shove don't get fancy try and follow the maunel they won't steer you wrong. If there is anything I can do to help just let me know.
welcome to the forum, why are you here?

The mach system is different on the 2001 mustang the only thing that is amped is the 4 mid ranges, the tweeters run right off the factory deck. There are only 2 amps in the 2001 mach system, where there is 3 amps in the older mach system.
The harness is right and same with the dash kit just make sure you get the double din kit in the packaging too. (Most kits now come with the double din and single din kit in the same packaging)
No it is pretty easly to install just just like a normal deck install but you just have to run a gps antenna, reverse wire and VSS wire. (VSS wire is in the pass. kick panel orange/white wire. To test this wire get a meter and put it on AC voltage and drive the car to wire voltage should change between 0(when the car is stop) and 7 and up(when the car is moving) The reverse wire I just want to the rear taillight but Im sure there is an easlier place to get that wire).
Do you want to bypass to watch movies? Just PM me and I can give you the bypass.
Thanks for all the info guys. I think i'll try the install myself it doesn't seem too bad but well see lol. And yeah I do want to do the bypass to watch movies so any hlep there would be appreciated. Sorry for the late response and thanks for the help!
