Need Some Ideas
I just got a '65 Coupe that I will be restoring soon (hopefully
. I was thinking ahead to when I put my audio stuff in & had a couple of ideas holler at me if you have any of your own. Anyways, what I thought of doing was covering the whole floor with dynamat, or some other brand, & then running my audio wires on top of that & then putting my carpet down over it all. On the door panels I would do the same thing & put dynamat on the ceiling under the headliner. How does that sound? Any & all help would be greatly appreciated. ~Q

I have been using dynamat for over a decade until I got my hands on a brand of dampner called 2nd skin. Better stuff and they sell online, check them out.

I've covered about half of my floor with sound deadener that was left over from another install but I will eventually cover the entire floor, the inside door panels and any portion of the outer door panel I can cover.
I did exactly what you mentioned regarding the wires and carpet.
Make or buy yourself some kickpanels for 5.25 or 6.5 comps, get some comps an amp and a sub and you will have a great sounding stereo in a classic.
