Default Convertible Audio

I was looking to invest some money in the audio system of my car. I currently replaced the door and rear speakers and the difference is noticeable and great. But I'm not sure how it would sound with further changes, such as subs. I haven't heard a convertible with a good system and I was wondering if anyone has or has heard one. Is it still good? Or is it a different sound due to the fact that it is convertible?

The sound is going to be different in the convertible. I done many system in covertible and they sound great, with subs. There not going to be as loud as it maybe in a couple, but you will still hear it. Depends on the sub(s) and amp your looking at too.

Along with subs, I would recommend adding an amp to those new speakers you put in too. A 4 channel amp will really improve the volume and brighten up the highs from those speakers, the volume will help when you have the top down driving on the highway you will be able to hear everything without having to turn the volume to the max. Diesel trucks have this problem with the volume, because the engine is so loud. Adding a 4 channel amp with an amp for the sub(s), will brightens up everything so you can hear the music with the engine on and the windows down or in your case with the top down.

You going to keep the factory headunit or you going to swap that out too?

I was planning on replacing this before I actually get the subs and amp. Speakers were the "best bang for the buck" improvement at the time.

Yeah the aftermarket deck will add alot. You will get better audio control like sub control, freq. filters, etc. Plus you have room to add stuff to that aftermarket deck like ipod, sat.radio,etc.

Do you have the shaker system?

Nope. Nothing but the regular stock speakers and deck.
