What gauge is speed sensor wire?
Does anyone know what gauge the speed sensor wire is in a 2007? I want to be sure I use the right tap size. Also, what would I do if the wires (both the tapper and tappee) are different gauges?
if you don't know how to splice wires of different gauges then I don't know if I would recommend doing anything security related....
all the wires you are looking for will be small. The only wires that are of any thickness are the ignition wires.

Maybe I explained it wrong. I know how to splice.
I want to use the correct t-tap for my connection. I think the VSS wire from the unit (AVIC-D3) is either 14 or 16 ga. I am thinking the VSS wire in the car is larger.
I used a red t-tap to hook it up and I am getting an intermittent pulse on the nav unit. So I am thinking I don't have a good connection. I probably should have went with a blue t-tap but I am also wondering if I can use the blue for the smaller gauge wire of the nav unit.
For anyone with an AVIC D3 who hooked up their VSS, what t-tap did you use?

I have been installing for well over 10 yrs and never had a bad T-tapp connection.
I have been installing for well over 10 yrs and I have never used a T-tapp connection.
I plan on keeping this record perfect for well over another 10 yrs. T-tapps have absolutely NO use in car audio and security unless you like diagnosing bad connections.
ABSOLUTELY NO USE.................

if you suspect a bad connection from a t-tap there is only 2 ways to test it. Jiggle the wire at the connection, or replace the connection with a proper connection. T-taps are just not a solid connection when placed in a situation where it is exposed to vibration.
Solder connections are always prefered, crimps are almost always acceptable, but t-taps just have no place in a car.
