Default quick question

hey..i have a friend who is selling me a JBL 1000 watt amp and 15" sub. is that gonna be pretty loud? I have a sony xplod radio..soon to be replaced with a better one. and i have 2 xplod speakers and then who knows what in the dash and doors. going to replace those as well. but he needs money and wants to sell quick, and can install for free because he works on this type of stuff all the time.

he wants 350 for the sub, amp, box, and instal. is that a pretty good deal?

and will it be loud?

thanks

the sub is BPX500.1

the amp is W15GTi MKII

those are the numbers he sent me. which somethings not adding up because that number is to a 500 watt amp but he said 1000 watt.

idk.

but based on that, would that sound good? (and loud)?

Considering that the rated power of the amp is 500 watts rms, and the rated power of the sub is 800 watts rms, you're getting very close to the most you'll be able to get. I did some looking, and the amp is actually measured at putting out about 670 watts rms. Perfect for the sub, since you can't really blow it if you stick a bit below the rated power. And yes, it will be loud (especially for that price), and probably something I would pick if I had a hatch.

parts an labor for installation at a shop will run you close to $100 for a good set of cables. Used audio equipment does not hold its value unless it is a high end piece or some kind of limited edition series so I would not give much for it to be honest. See how his install looks before you have him do your car.
