the first reason is to keep it from hitting the back of your head. I bet it took 2 people to lift that in and they thought that there was no way it would move. If you watch closely you can see the amp fly off of the box as it hits the ground.

looks like the amp wasnt mounted to the box but got pulled out by the speaker wires
