When the 91 was streetable like you see in my photo's I had all Blaupunkt everyone said its trash well its the best sounding trsh ive heard even with the top down and crank. But I would Have to say that I was a Pioneer girl too when it came to polyphil speakers. But with the 2000 coupe that i drive so very much I opted for newer Brand but gues what there the same polyphil speaker pioneer makes they just happenned to have them in stock. Did you change your wiring? youj would be shocked to know what a change speaker wire can make . Also Baffles for the backs of the speakers keep the tinny rattle down.

alright, car stereo myth #1: head units that put out 20 watts a channel.. your best car stereo's actually put out around 14 watts continuous. take a look at amplifiers that are 100 watts. compare the sizes. speaker wise i would recomend infinity, eclipse, diamond, kove. i would if at all possible stay away from 6x9's and other oval speakers. best recomendations like at a concert, the sound should be in front of you, not behind ya. a set of 6 1/2 components up front, set of 5 1/4 coxials in back, one ten in the trunk for fill. instant smiles with a system that can be built for 600 bucks.. system design is the crucial factor in sq and music...whether small or large scale, do it right..

my last setup, which has to be pulled now that the car is totaled is

clarion pro video/audio fold out head, 9300 7band eq, 3band parametric, dsp, active crossovers network. running intotwo orion red 2 hccas.highs and mids come from 6.1 perfect components(custom fiberglassed and filled door panels) in the front and two perfect 10's in a custom built in the trunk box.(yeah, a real pain) box was ported and tuned to 46 and port fire throughback panel to increase db in cab and reduce trunk vibration.alt gauge power supply front to back and 12 gauge procomp wireamp to doors. 10 gauge wire amp to subs.2 1 farad caps keep the volts continous.all wire is phoenix gold comp including the rca's.sound is a funny beast, a low impedience ground can through the whole thing for a loop... i still design systems and boxes(newer sn95 and ups are a pain to put subs in, but if anyone needs specs and such let me know..
