Default 2006 GT system question

I have two 12's and a punch amp from my last system. Im wanting to hook up to my factory 6 disk cd changer. Is there anything that is needed to tie into the factory unit or can I just splice or tap into the wires? Ive heard a few things about needing some kind of adapter to connect to the factory unit. Is this true? Has anyone done what Im wanting to do?

The adapter is called an aftermarket headunit haha. It also depends on what stock system you have in the car. Shaker500 systems need a voltage regulator for the stock 8" subs in the doors. You cant hook it up normally unless you splice but thats just stupid in my opinion. Everyone has put in a new headunit if they put subs in

I also have a kenwood excelon headunit but I really enjoy the 6 disk cd changer and wanna try and keep it. That way it looks like I dont have anything in the car either... Amp is a punch a4. Have some connectors that just snap over the wire and cut into the rubber to connect to the wire so thought about using them but not sure how the quality would be. Not tring to ****** rig it. Just tring to use the shaker 500 unit.

your going to drain the battery really fast with you trying to push 2 12"s and the 2 8"s. Im currently running the 8"s on my new headunit and they really start to drain the battery and I havent even finish putting in my other 4 subs in the trunk yet

The thing your looking for is a LOC(line output converter) I had one in my 05 befor i wised up and went aftermarket. Anyway I wired mine up to the rear speaker leads

Is what it dose it will splice in right before the speaker and then it will come out with RCA for your amp.

The only reason i did it was because i Got the amp and was not sure how Nice of a deck i wanted. Then when i decided on the avic-Z3 the F90BT was teased and was to be released a month or so later and i liked the look and sound of it. I just knew i would kick my self in the *** if i didn't wait to see what the hype was over. I am glade i did. I like the F. Grant now i think i might lean to alpine. But who can keep up!!

I replaced too many jensens while I was installing to ever own one myself. I really could not count how many came back in the short time I worked at a place that sold jensen.

I currently own an alpine and have been happy with it for over 3 yrs now. I don't like to buy a piece of gear that I don't thing will be working 10 yrs from now since I am not selling my car....
