RE: plexiglass box
3mm plexi would 1. flex like nuts, which is bad and 2. caulking would work for sealing only, not for bonding and also would look very oogly. if you want light build a custom fiberglass enclosure with a mdf front panel. Also sealed or ported is all a matter of your tastes. if you would like to learn some more about enclosures just sign up over at www.caraudio.com i have the same screen name there.

RE: plexiglass box
yeah i dunno really i could always see if i could get thicker plexiglass, but wud u think jus stay away from it for sub boxes?or i might jus leave the box i have in tehre now because it sounds not bad, but how big of a difference would a fiberglass box make from tha mdf one i got?

RE: plexiglass box
There was an ebay store that sold custom plexiglass boxes. I think they were really thick though. Personally, I think it's tacky. You see all the wires and junk. I did a small sealed enclosure in my trunk with fiberglass. A fiberglass box with a good paint or carpeting job looks really clean. I don't know about weight. The one I built isn't the easiest damn thing to lug around.
