there are some special steps that are needed to be done but it depends on what deck you get, its outputs and what you want to do with the system later. Are you going to add additional amps/subs and speakers or just rock the stock speakers? With a little tweeking you can get the mach system to sound even better with a good aftermarket deck then it does with the factory radio.

Page 2 of my cardomain page shows how I put an alpine cd player in my 94. The system has since been completely changed but I can get you through it.

i have a 2000 as well, and just recently installed a new headunit, the old one went out on me and ford said they would have to send it out (some rediculous process). so i went with an aftermarket piece. You will need an "amplifier integration harness," and a headunit that has at least 2 a/v outputs with it (for front and rear channels). The harness plugs into these outputs and then plugs into the factory amp lines with the same adaptor. I didnt have to splice into any of my factory wiring or anything, installation was very simple too. Go to www.crutchfield.com they gave me the adaptor and installation kit included with the h/u. Theres also alot of support on their site too which helped me decide what i wanted. Good luck.

Do you have a drawing or instructions on how to do this. I was looking at a HU and it was a 4 channel. Would I still only need the two RCA outputs? Also how do I know which wires the RCA connections go to?

Thanks,
Mark
