Default Very odd Shaker 500 question

Hey guys. I'm new to the Mustang forums as I just bought an 05 vert in Sept. Anyway, I thought I had just a dead battery, as it was the original battery from when the car was originally purchased. About a month later, the new battery is also dead. I noticed that there was a loud pop in the front right sub, and what sounded like a short or bad ground interference in that same speaker. After a weekend of taking things out and putting things back in, I no longer have the pop in the speaker. But I had to remover the power lead from the amp that powers the subs in the doors. Anyone have any idea what would lead to this problem? It seems that the amp just doesn't cut off. Is it in the crazy shaker head unit? And if I wanted to purchase a new head unit, would it be possible to use the stock cables in the back, yet, not use the amps in the Shaker 500 system. Thanks for your help guys.
