Default Head unit pre-outs ??

Im looking at some pioneer's and saw that some have 3 set of 4v pre-outs and others had 3 sets of 2v pre-outs. I was wonder if my Mach 1000 system would benefit from the 4v over the 2v? The receiver is the only thing I plan on changing nothing else.

if your using the speaker level outputs it doesn matter. If your using the RCA out puts, the higher the output, the more headroom youll have and not have to overdrive the amps.

if you are going to wire into the mach system and use the rca outputs you will need a line driver to get the voltage up around 8v where the stock amps are happy. With out it the subs will have weak output and leave the 2.5" speakers to play the bass which sounds bad.

So either way I need a line driver to feed the amps?

if you want the mach system to sound good yes. IF you are replacing speakers and bypassing the stock amps then no. There are a few different ways to go about it
