Default JL 12W7 HO Box

I was wondering if this has any chance to fit in to a 2004 mustang.

here are the dimensions of the box

(H) Height 17.0 in.
(W) Width 34.0 in.
(D1) Depth 20.5 in
(D2) Top Surface Depth 14.5 in.

well i have an 08 GT and i'm not sure how our trunks compare but when i was looking around for a box for my 12" W7 i was told that the JL made box would be too big and i'm sure it'd prolly be the same for u. However there is another company that is JL approved that makes a box for the 12" W7 that is smaller but still provides the right amount of space for the sub. i cant remember the name of it but if u go to an audio store they might have or atleast know of it

i know that they make a prowedge that is a lot smaller and is more SQ oriented than SPL ... that being said would it still be loud?

im 19 and this is my 1st time getting involved with car audio and i dont know much about it but i have heard from many people that JL makes the best subs

The W7's require too large a box for our cars (S197, not sure about the new edges). You would probably have to get really creative to get one to fit. I talked to the local audio store about getting one and once they told me the internal size required of the W7 I decided on the 12W6. I'm happy with the W6, sending 800watts to it. It's my second 12W6 in 4 years. The first one starting blowing out its surround after 3 years which is likely my fault and the power I'm feeding it!

EDIT: sorry I gave some incorrect info there. the 13W7 would have required too much space. I'm pretty sure JL makes a stealth box with a 12W7 in it for our cars. Very expensive though, $900 and I haven't found it for less than that.

Yep, they make a 13w6v2 stealthbox for the 2005-2009.

I have NO EQ on the bottom end and this is my RTA response:

I am still trying to tame reflections and high frequency anomalies though.

EDIT: JL Audio makes a 10" Stealthbox for the prior generation Mustang: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...hp?fit_id=1391

Man, that thing fits beautifully. I think that will be my next sub. Just wish I could locate one for <$900!

now would there be a big difference if it was in the stealth box compared to a HO box or prowedge or does it still sound good (like i said idk much about car audio at all) and is that 900 for just the box or the 12w7 + the stealth box

I'll keep you in mind if I end up getting rid of my Mustang in the near future.

I want a different car, but I can't make up my mind as to what I want.
