2011 Mustang Audio Upgrade
Not cheaply possible. At least not without it looking like crap. They didn't do standard din/double-din for the cut-out facade. So you would need to replace it at the least, making your own or buying a pre-built one which isn't cheap at the moment.
Use a LOC(Line Output Converter) on the factory speaker out lines (not the subwoofer pre-outs), by either tapping the left and right speakers in the rear, which would be a shorter run, or by buying a reverse and normal factory plug to mate together with the LOC. Then run RCA cables to the amp.
Here is the reverse connector. Here is the normal connector. You would just use the 24-pin connectors together (leave the 8 and 16 pin connectors unused) so you could splice in the LOC on the speaker lines you wished to use without damaging the factory wiring.

You can simply tap the wires you need rather then wasting $30 on hrns's. Best buy likes to do this because they pay $3< for the hrns's so to sell two for $30, they will love you.
Thanks for posting the connectors. How do you think the SQ is from the stock base HU? I'm running CDT components up front powered by the stock HU. It distorts badly when turned up past moderate volumes. I realize the amplifiers in it is probably crap but am more concerned with the SQ from the other parts. I was thinking about using the harnesses you posted + a LOC to wire up a 2 channel amp for the components. I dont want to waste my time/money doing that if it wont sound good because of the stock HU being crap. I dont want to do an aftermarket HU atm bc I dont like the location of the metra or scosche kits.
ah man we got another best buy installer here? There is no reason to guy this guy for $30 in hrns's man it is not going to help your accesory/mult sales numbers.

I simply prefer to avoid molesting factory wiring when possible.
Dropping hundreds on speakers, and amp(s) then avoiding twenty to thirty bucks for an extra harness seems a bit..well..Silly, for the nice way of stating it. If your going to re-work most of the setup, or are definite in resolve to never get rid of the car, then there´s not much point of course, but otherwise..
Same for the amps IMO, few bucks to bypass without having to cut or splice anything, so long as you´re ok with the existing gauge wiring. Waste for some I´m sure as well, but I´d rather tap from a cut-up one of those myself.

I dont have stock woofers. I have the base system with just 4 6x8's no woofers. I think i'm going to go ahead and order the metra kit and throw my Pioneer P860 from my other car in here until I get a double din. I dont like the metra kit but the scosche one looks worse due to even lower placement of the screen.
