I think I'm going to go to Best Buy for this one as well...the prices suck, but apparently RadioShack is Web Only, and I really want to do this install tonight.

The Magden Computer also has a VGA and an S-Video output, but I would assume that I'm not going to have those inputs on the head unit am I? I guess the order of quality would be VGA, then S-Video, then Composite Video if I had a choice.

Any ideas?
Component or Composite? Composite is a single line for video with just basic old 640x480@60hz resolution.

For composite cables, you won´t see any difference in any manufacturers cables unless they have extremely crappy QC, or shielding.

For Component, it can vary to degrees depending on the manufacturer, as this is used for higher bandwidth usage, and as it´s split, is usually more susceptible to interference if not shielded properly.

Composite. It's just a single yellow video output. Like I said, there is also an S-Video and a VGA output, but I wasn't sure if I'd have access to either of those inputs on the Z-120BT.

Yep, just find a cheese one from storage. The only thing you'll have any issues with is RFI if the shielding isn't decent.

Okay, there is a pink wire from the Pioneer harness that is labeled "Car Speed Signal Input" and there is no wire that can even be mistaken for pink on the PAC Harness. I don't see anything addressing this issue in the 3200 Install thread, so this must be something specific to the Z-120BT. Any ideas on this?

You shouldn't need to hook up the vss wire. I have not installed a z-120 but on previous pioneer models the gps would work fine without that wire being connected.

Okay, after some problem solving, this is what I'm going with for now. I'm not reinstalling the entire dash tonight, so if I'm wrong on any counts, tell me and I'll fix it before I bolt it all back in.

The Pink Wire on the Pioneer Harness says "Car Speed Signal Input" on it. On the PAC sheet, the Purple/White wire is the "VSS" which I took to mean Vehicle Speed Signal. If I'm right, the Purple/White PAC=Pink Pioneer.

There is also a Purple/White wire on the Pioneer Harness. In the manual, this one is listed as the Reverse Gear Signal Input. The PAC harness has a Green Wire that is listed as "Reverse Light." So, if I'm right here, Purple/White Pioneer = Green PAC.

The 3200DVD install thread says to attach the Blue/White Pioneer wire to the Blue/White PAC Wire. If this is done, then the Blue PAC "Antennae" wire is left with no attachment, while the Pioneer Manual says that the Blue/White Pioneer wire is the antennae wire. I'll try the install threads method, but leaving the PAC antennae wire seems flawed to me; especially when the Blue/White Pioneer is listed as the antennae wire.

Past that, I think everything is going smooth. The dash is already prepared for mounting, and the radio is already mounted in the trim kit.

Okay, I'm calling it quits for the night.

I got the radio in the car. Cables are a complete mess. I wasn't sure where to run the ground wire to, so I just electrical taped it to one of the metal "walls" back with the cables. I'm really not sure what to do to clean the cables up. There is just so much going on back there it's ridiculous.

I just wanted to see if it worked basically. I got power, system worked fine. There was definitely sound, not sure if it was all around or not, but there was sound of some sort. Haven't worked out GPS yet, or the Bluetooth Mic.

Not sure if my bypass worked yet.

Radio didn't work. Probably because the wire wasn't connected, but the write-up specifically said connect the only blue wire from the Pioneer Harness to the Amp-Power wire...not sure what to do there.

I'm happy with what I've gotten done, but just frustrated at everything in general because it is so tedious and some instructions are so vague...but hey, I'm saving money if I don't screw anything up.
