Dave Matthews, I think would be a good choice, maybe even some live tracks. Also even Mudvayne, track well almost any track on that cd from L.D.50. They play such a range on all their instruments, ryan plays the whole neck on the bass, singer does everything from screaming to some pretty deacent actual singing, drummer does alot of nice kick drums and snare work. try and listen to the slower songs I know 5, 10, 11 are good places to start. Also some 311, mainly transistor, sound system, evolver cd's. Also I've seen a few audio review mags use Usher's Confession album, alot of beat and clean highs as opposed to alot of other hip hop albums

Try the new PSC album. Their an O.K. rap group, but they have some good hard hitting songs.

Just please tell me your not going to take our suggestions and download them off the net at a 128 quality, that would completely ruin the reason behind asking what type of music to use.

1812 Overture - Tchaikowski (classical with highs mids and very lows(cannon fire)
Adiemus - Adiemus (new age with a good range of highs, mids and lows)
One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer - George Thorogood & The Destroyers (Good Jam to test mid thumps)
Hotel California - The Gypsy Kings (its an Eagle's cover but with more guitars)
Galang (Radio Edit) - M.I.A. (Lows with reverb)

These are pretty eclectic but are good for testing a sound system for clarity and loudness. You can also look for sampler CDs with different sounds effects. I got one with a helicopter hovering and a 747 fly-by (this one freaks people out when they're far away from an airport!! )
