Default Mach 460 Scan/Seek function problem

Hello,

I am a newbie, and this is my first post of many (I'm sure) for help on a 03 mustang V6 convertible I just purchased.

My first question is a rare one I think and don't know if there is a fix.

On my Mach 460 system, when using the radio, the scan & seek buttons don't work correctly. When I press them, they constantly search over and over and never find anything. But I can use my preset buttons or tune and it takes me to perfectly clear stations.

Is there a fix for this, or do I need a new radio.

might want to check that there aren't any disconnects/partial connects in the cable going from the radio to the antenna. the '03 still uses that miserable piece of crap Motorola antenna connector, which has no positive latching connection and can "back out" over time. the signal might be ok enough for you to hear the station but the radio tuner's algorithm might still sense it as too weak a signal.
