HT... The radios would be great if it's not too much trouble. We'll see you in the AM.

Guys I hope this rain moves out by in the morning. For those coming from Charlotte or Winston Salem the lowes in mountain view would be a good place to meet. it is the address posted by ht. We would need to leave by 9:25 from there to make it to Marion by 10:00 or so.. I have printed off a little map of the diamond back to give everyone. This way if you want to drive a little more spirited we can all meet back up at the top. Looking forward to meet you guys.

+1 I had a great time.. I want to thank each and everyone that came out for this today. We had good weather and great group of folks to spend a day with. I will be posting some pictures as soon as they get loaded up. Don't forget to check out blindkenny.com in a few days to see some photos.

Same senitments here Brian. it was a great day and I look forward to the next one. Hopefully it will be a bit cooler.

I think a longer drive on the Parkway would have been great today. There is always next time.

Looked up Tail of the Dragon, that looks like a wild ride. I would love to make that trip as well.

That would be a long day trip - Google says it is about 180 miles from Hickory. Looks like it would be worth it though.

A fantastic time was had by all, it was a great day for Mustang-ing.
Five cars with their associated people met up in Hickory for the 40 minute drive to Marion. We met up with HT and Brian there for the drive up the mountain.
We stopped at Little Switzerland for the mandatory tourist trap layover and then came down the Blue Ridge from there to Highway 80, with a brief stop at Deerlick Gap for some photos.
Down Highway 80 back to Marion, a lunch stop at Moondoggy's in Marion, then on to Lake James State Park where we enlisted the aid of a willing photographer for a group shot.
It was a great trip and those of you who weren't there are sorry you didn't make it. Here are some photos so you can see what you missed.

Many thanks to James (tango7) for organizing this run.
The rest of the photos in this album can be found here.
