Hey guys, I just made myself a new avatar and its the right dimensions just the filesize is too large. How do I go about making the filesize smaller while keeping the dimensions the same? Thanks!

 

depends, what kind of file is it, gif, jpg? what editing program are you using? if you want to post it as an attachment, i will resize it for you.

 

Its a Jpeg, and I used PS to make it and size it dimension wise.. it just ended up alot larger than the 20 kb allowed for avatar pics.

ok, on a jpg with ps if you "save for web" it will strip out all the exif data and allow you to set the quality level in order to get it to a certain file size. for example I took your file, did nothing to it except save for web 100% quality. just stripping the exif data took it down to under 9kb.
