Default Noob lookin to learn to chop

I just downloaded photo-filtre like 2 weeks ago and I have been messin around with it, still learnin... I am having problems on a few things.

I cant figure out how to chop another picture into the main picture using the layers. I wanna learn to possibly make people sigs for when I am bored and make cool backgrounds and do some fonts. I am pretty good at cutting out a pic but I cant figure out how to place that pic in background that I have. I am getting good at fonts, just need to work on backgrounds. After that I can make people some sigs and whatnot.

So any advise is great!!

Thank you

-Seth

photofiltre doesnt have layers. once you drag your selection from one document to the other and "apply it" it becomes permenantly embedded onto the new document.
