My New Eaton Compressor

My New Eaton Compressor
I bought this thing from Eaton Compressors in Eaton Ohio. They have some really wordy ads on eBay touting their wares so I bought one.
I have grown tired of the noisy *** short lived "hardware store" air compressors, so I started looking for better 5 HP unit. I wanted an old school compressor that sounds more like a 730 John Deere tractor instead of a Cessna airplane at full throttle... (have any of you younger folke ever heard an air compressor that makes "put - put noises? ) An Eaton 5 HP uint goes for about $900 to $1,000.
Well I settled on a 7.5 HP unit with a 4 cyl compressor that is rated at 10 HP. When it came off of the truck I was struck by it's large proportions. It looks like an industrial unit. Check out the massive electric motor and compressor head. They make an upright unit for the same price.
The compressor turns slow, like 500 or 600 rpm, it is a hell of a lot more quiet than my old pos little compressor. an normal conversation can be had in my garage with the compressor running.... It comes with a 5 year "bumper to bumper" guarantee, they claim this thing will last 25 years without issue.
If you are thinking about a new compressor I highly recomend one of these, to me it looks like a unit that I thought would cost a LOT more.
Oh, I paid about $1,850 delivered to NM, it can be bought for about $1,500 FOB Eaton Ohio (+ tax).
I saw a unit in Home Depot tonight for the same price,,,, (sorry HD)... it was a POS compared to this one....

these pictures dont really convey the massive size of this thing... I don't know how much it weighs but I have a hard time scooting it across the floor... and I can usually move stuff most others have trouble with... damn...
