Mercury Cougar Question

CarQuest. Its cheap single stage tractor enamel, but you have to cut and buff it to make it shine like that. It still doesnt look as good as two stage. I rebuild cars for therapy and something to do. Im a broken USAF vet, cant do much else so I play with old cars and trucks. I learned body work and painting since 2006.

that engine does look like a windsor (intake hose). The easiest way to tell the 351w from a 302 is to look at the deck height. If it's a 302, the deck height (where the head meets the block) will be more or less level with the timing cover. With a 351w there will be an inch and half or so of distance between the timing cover and the edge of the deck.

Its a job that sends you around the world on paid vacations where you do that job in fun places and meet interesting and engaging people from ancient civilizations. You get to wear camouflage and every day in the AF is an airshow.
Cougars should have the vin stamped on the engine, at least most should after 67. Still the value is going to be about the same no matter what engine is in it. Cougars are rarer than Mustangs yet have lower selling prices with comparable engines. A 428 Mustang is more pricey than a 428 Cougar but the Cougar is harder to find. I would love to have a GT-E with the 427 in it, but I cant even afford the block or heads.
