Default intake manifold sealant - both sides of gasket?

Typing this on my cell phone, hope this works haha.

Installing a set of felpro 1228's and need to know if I'm supposed to put gasket sealant on BOTH sides of the new gasket? Or just the side that touches the intake manifold? (Not on the "down" side that touches the block?). I'm using the black RTV and not installing the cork gaskets at the front/rear of the intake as directed in several other threads...thanks!

I put maybe like the thinnest layer ever around the already blue that was on the gasket. I did not put any on the other side. And then used black rtv in place of the cork gaskets. Havent had any problems yet daily driving.

Thanks! Does the "blue ring side" of the gasket face down on the block or up touching the intake manifold?

Do not put anything around the intake ports. On 289/302 gaskets, you put a thin smear around the coolant ports, but the cleve intakes don't have coolant crossovers so you don't need to worry about that.

Put the blue side up, towards the manifold.

Yeah i do a light smear of the blue around the water ports and the black on the ends of the block never had a leak yet.And make sure you change the oil and coolant after just in case.

Oh and make sure you keep torquing the bolts down days/weeks later until the gasket is fully settled
