66 Musnag Convertible Shocks
My car needs shocks.
Gabriels are pretty reasonable ($30 for both rear), and I had them on my old Mustang (a 66 coupe) and I liked them.
I dont want KYB, because my car didnt come with KYB, and I never thought the ride was worth the expense.
I'm keeping this car til I die, so gabriels lifetime warranty is kinda important.
What are the forums thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
C

Thanks! I'll order them today...
And since I got you...
My convertible was Tahoe Turquoise (the ONE color I dont like on Mustangs) when it was a baby. The PO painted it white. Its ok, but not beautiful. I want it red, but so does every other Mustang Convertible owner.
What are your thoughts?
If I dont paint it the original color, should I even care that its not even a 66 Mustang color?
Thanks!

I'm pretty happy with Gabriel shocks myself.
If you're not painting it the original color, don't worry about getting a correct shade. More often than not, people will refer to red on a classic Mustang as "candy apple red" anyway. Having an incorrect paint color isn't going to kill the value of the car by any means. If you're not restoring it to exact factory specs, then treat it like your car and do whatever you want with it, especially if you plan on keeping the car until the day you die.

If you'd mentioned hard driving at all, I'd send you toward Bilsteins rather than KYBs, as they have a much better ride vs handling compromise. A bit more $ for a much better product (I've had both on another car).
As far as paint color goes, unless you were going to try to turn the car for a profit or get involved with picky show car judging I don't see any problem with painting it a color that wasn't "Mustang-correct". Or even a non-Ford color if you see something you like.

I am not a fan or the turquiouse either. Hell, I can't even spell it!! I'd say paint it what you want without concern of what others think or say. Red is popular for a reason: it looks good! Go to a paint store and pull out the PPG book, and pick a red YOU like. Problems solved.

Red looks awesome on Mustangs. No doubt about it.
Tahoe turquoise looks good with wire wheels and a parking spot next to the beach, but other than that it's a pretty strange color and doesn't pop out as much as red. What's worse than turquoise exterior? turquoise interior. There were a couple of Mustangs I looked at back when I was still searching for one; they were great cars for the money, but the interior color turned me off completely. Nasty, nasty.
