Default Its stuck...

First off I hope everyone has had a nice summer. I know mines been eventful.

This doesnt have anything to do with a mustang but for generally any vehicle.

I found myself working on my truck alot lately, maintance and some needed up grades.
"its a 75 F150 with a 390 FE"

But mainly I have been having problems with my power steering hoses leaking, well i believe the pressure hose is what its call anyhow, but its stuck. I have tried heating it, tapping on it, theres not much room for pry-baring. So I have done some searching and havent found anything that could help tool wise. Do they not make a socket like the ones used for O2 sensors that are cut-away on a side? If yall haven't heard of suck a tool, do yall think there is a market for such a tool.

I find it hard to believe suck a tool doesnt exhist yet cause I know anyone that has turned a wrench on a vehicle has probably run into this. Let me know what yall think or if you got information on suck a tool, thanks

It's not needed. If you are replacing the hose and it is stuck that bad.....cut the line off and use a regular 6 point socket.

Hate to make the issue worse,,,, but, likely this is an inverted flare hose end, if so, Teflon won't work.

I think you are talking about a line wrench. Go to sears and try to find a set or just google to see what im talking about.

Well I got it off after takin a torch to the dang thing.

JMD- yes it does have a double flare on it, I put the teflon above the flare and slid the connector down and teflond the threads on the nut/screw dodad thingy.

boogerschnot- thanks you exactly what I was looking for. Ill be picking up a set of them puppies.

Well after I put the teflon on connections and drove it about 10miles it seems to have done the trick, but for how long or to what avail only time will tell. Thanks Fellas

In my educated opinion, , I think that maybe the hose end was not seated just right or the flare on the hose was damaged, Teflon on the threads for this application are useless because any leakage (past the flare) that is later stopped by the Teflon tape will just go between the nut and tube, this area is for the most part unsealable...

I know you have solved your problem, but you should also look into the flare nut crow wrenches if access is an issue (in the future). Then you can use socket extensions.

Good luck.

JMD- Ya I see what your are saying and I raped tefflon around the tube and shoved the nut down on it, like you said probably just a temporary fix.

crunchyskippy- thanks for the info on those tools, look like they could come in handy
