Default My new 1966 Mustang

My wife and I just bought this 1966 Mustang that has been sitting since 1983 It was running when parked. The floors are solid as is the trunk. Just surface rust and a few small rust holes just above the rear window. The vin is 6F07C137841

A tag on the valve cover says 302 so its probaly not the original engine. I have pictures but I cant post them. Here is a link to the craigslist ad to it. http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2824778051.html

Body 65A, Color U, Trim 27, Date 13k, DSO 63, Axle 6, Trans 6

We paid $1400 And it has a clear title.

Just tell me what you think. It has not run since 1983 so getting it running is my first step. Did I get a good deal or did I get screwed?

Thanks, Jason McClure Pasadena,Texas

Welcome to the forums.

It's got the front and rear bumper supports!!

Time, patience and money. Pick two and you'll have that car in good condition soon.

It looks like a good project car and it looks like you got a good price for it too.

If you take the starter off there will be a casting number at the rear corner of the block, this letter/number combination will tell you the year, there is a number above it that will tell you the date cast. Post the 2 series of letters/numbers and we can identify it. This will be important for any engine parts you may buy as they changed somewhat:

Welcome to the madness,
