Default fuel line install problem

I just replaced the fuel line on my '69 and can't get her started anymore. I know fuel is getting pumped out of the mechanical fuel pump, but no fuel is entering the fuel filter. I changed absolutely nothing between the fuel pump and the carb which has me clueless as to what the problem can be.

I know fuel is getting pumped because I disconnected the fuel line at the pump, cranked it over a couple of times and saw it was squirting fuel out.

I should say, I replaced everything from the Fuel Sending Unit to the Fuel Pump... and my Fuel Pump isn't even 2 months old.

A stuck needle and seat in the carb or a clogged fuel filter

If you can push the throttle back on the carburetor and you get a squirt of gas from the accelerator pump, it is not a fuel problem. That would mean it just happens to be a coincidence that it isn’t starting and it may be electrical. You may have knocked something loose, check for spark.

You say you are getting fuel out from the fuel pump, but are you getting fuel to the carburetor? Take the line off the carb and turn the engine over. Any fuel there? If not, then either the filter is clogged, or the line is bent or clogged.

for the life of me, I can't figure this out. I cleaned the fuel filter, I even replaced the fuel pump, I have blown compressed air through the new fuel lines to make sure they were unobstructed. Currently I can't get ANY fuel to leave the fuel pump, yet fuel is in the line that feeds the fuel pump. I can tell because a ton of fuel will spill out if I disconnect the line.

OK, now we are getting somewhere. Fuel is getting to the fuel pump, but fuel is not coming out of the fuel pump. If that is right, then either the fuel pump was not put in correctly, or it is not working. The diaphragm may have a hole in it, etc.... Since it is a mechanical pump, I would just replace it. Not too many bux.

well, now i'm not even getting fuel to the fuel pump... Since the lines are full of air, I'm guessing the pump cannot pump out that air, maybe I just have to get my rear end up really high and let the fuel find its own way to the front of the car

Good plan. Since you don't have an electric pump, gravity needs to feed the pump. But, with enough turning over of the engine, the fuel pump should gravitate the fuel to the carb.
