That is one project you need to take pictures of as it progresses, then document each and every step. We can add that to the project of the year category. I wish you luck.

well some more information on this:
the ecm is #1227727 from a 91-93 chevy corvette. i pulled this one out of a 3.1L lumina actually. this is simply a weatherproof of the more popular #1227730, located in the dash of early 90s camaros, trans ams and firebirds. all sensors are gm except for the TPS, which must mount directly onto the ford throttle body. the reason i'm going with gm products is that there is substantially more control over engine parameters with current software available on the web. such programs include tunerpro and tunercat. i'm going with tunerpro rt (real time) version, which allows me to reprogram the memcal in real time with the engine running, and it won't hiccup or stall out. this only works in conjunction with a device called the ostrich by craig moates. luckily, craig lives 45 seconds that way -----> from me. i'll work on a how to with prices and lots of information from my research. later.

Hmmmmm. Bowtie stuff in a classic Mustang. That will be an interesting story to share with all your Mustang friends.

maybe i'm dumb, or just young, but define "bowtie stuff." you referring to the gm parts? well, i know mustangsplus did an EFI conversion and they used a stock ford computer, but read the last page where they say it idles rough until they get on it. i'm sure there's a way somewhere out there to use ford stuff, but it's impractical and probably too costly. my entire setup will total about $350, and that's only because i'm choosing to tune it real time. if not, i could accomplish the same thing for $100 cheaper.

Yes, bowtie means Gm. Particularly Chevy. Ford makes the same if not better EFI engine upgrades. If I could stuff my 03 Mach1 4.6L into my 65, I would have one hellava car. I am glad you are getting yours done for very little money as you have stated, but that doesn't mean that it can't be done with Ford engine upgrades without problems as you have stated.

roger, dumb it is.
anyway, i'm sure your mach1 engine would be great and all, but it's ECM does not contain a memcal. one large reason i'm going with the gm setup is to allow me to reprogram the chip. it is very similar to the OBD-1 ecu's used in some hondas, usually referred to as tuner cars. i'll be driving the mustang around while my buddy sits in the passenger seat w/ a laptop hooked up to the ecm and he'll be tweaking the air/fuel tables to accomplish optimum effects. of course a $1000 aftermarket computer from AEM or the like will give the same effects. but, wait, that's $1000. oh and i have most of that conversion writeup finished already soaring, i just need to get some pictures and a few more details in there.
