Default New Gauges

The time has come to replace the factory gauges and bezel in my 65. However, this leaves many choices, as there seem to be several ways out there to do this procedure. This is the advice that I am looking for from you.

I would like to get a six gauge unit, no sweeping speedometer for me, and I would really like a tach. I've been looking at some kits, from places like JME Enterprises (which look very nice, but seem to be a little on the pricey side) and Haneline (these good as well, but I am not too fond of the brushed or turned aluminum look, but are much cheaper than JME).

Does anyone have any gauge bezel units that they like? What kind of price should I be paying?

Also with the gauges, I would like to go White Faced, and I am wondering about things like an electric speedometer, or a mechanical one? My current sweeping mechanical one is very bouncy, and it drives me up the wall!

Is this what you are looking for? These look pretty nice to me. Somewhere between 500 and a thousand bux though. Contact Autoworks if interested.

So I can just buy a panel, and throw in some gauges? Does the panel come with the brackets and all that? How about the face, what kinds of finishes can I get? (camera case, woodgrain...)

I like the looks of that R model one (with the six gauges) but how would I support the gauges in there? Is there some mounting kit that I can get with brackets and whatnot?

Also, on the issue of electric or mechanical speedometer, what do you recommend?

gauges come with their own "brackets" and for the speed, just use a mechanical, otherwise youl'll need a speed sensor and probably more money.
