I can buy a 351C for $200... My dad doesn't want me to buy it, he says theres no need for it in a 66 mustang. What should i tell him. they are rare right?

Yeah, if you were to actually go out looking for a 351 Cleveland you would spend a lot of time and effort finding one that still runs. If it runs, I would snap it up in a heartbeat for that price. However, you have to understand that it is expensive to mod the C. Those heads are huge, and will be a very tight fit in a 66 engine bay. So, depending on what you want to do with it.....your dad may be right.

WEll, I love power...... I already know about the side clearance issues. I'll put really good plugs in. hahaha. Would it bolt right in the mustang though? I'd probably wouldn't mod it much, it already has plenty of HP.

I would say go for it. Especially if you get the complete running motor. Extra speed parts are even better. Ask me how I know.

No you wont. I have decided to go look at it. It's in a truck, and he;s selling the whole truck, and i just want the motor. My friend says it has oil in it, and the crank turns alittle bit. So im thinking it is useable. The carb is missing(because my friend bought it off of it a few weeks ago.) Other then that, the motor is complete. I think i should go for it, and see if i can just buy the engine. i hope he has a puller there though.

Yeah, therein lies your problem of getting that heavy engine out of the truck. You also have to realize that the cam will have to be changed don't you?

Ah, Now really, How many times are you trying to get to your sparkplugs? I think the greater performance overrules, the longer spakrplug change time. Another thing. IT's a 2V cleveland. I heard these are actually better then the 4v's. Is this true anyone?

Well i did consider that it has a truck cam in it..... What are some HP and torque specs of the truck engines back then? I believe even a truck engine would wake up the light stang quite well, espically with all the torque.
