And Bud is not even the most popular beer w/ WVU students!!!
Do you drive your car to school?
I teach at WVU and I'll keep an eye out -- Insurance keeps me from using my 'stang to comute to work.
Back on subject, you can also buy a flush kid that aids in the radiator flush. It requires that you put a filler T in the heater hose. I just bought some extra heater hose and remove the regular hose with I'm flushing. Also consider a filter to control the crap after the flush. Here is an example, I'm posting this link as an example, I believe there are better deals if you search the net.

I assume he is talking about an I6. On those the heater hose goes to a plate under the carb and the antifreeze runs through there to warm up the carb. Well in his case it would not be antifreeze it would be brown water but you get the point.

"Brownish crap" sounds like a pretty dirty system, more than ready to be flushed. I basically went through the considerable flush system that Glen described but with chemical flushes, too (and Heineken for me). If the coolant has been neglected, watch for after-effects from the long overdue maintenance. For me, the thermostat stuck open and now I'm getting some noice out of the water pump (no sign of drip off the weep hole yet, though) on my monthly winter start-up. So that's the first project when she comes out of storage mid-April.
Okay, I just went outside right now, and the setup is like this:
1. Solid line running from the water pump up towards the carburetor.
2. A short hose, about 6 inches in length goes from the solid line to some piece mounted underneath the carb.
3. That mounted piece under the carb has one line that goes to the valve cover as the PCV valve, and the other line goes to the heater.
BTW, I don't have my camera today, I left it at school, but I'll bring it home tomorrow and take pics.
