getting ready to order a stall converter
Hey guys I need some input. I am getting ready to order a stall converter for my C4. Here are the concerns.
There are two different spline counts for the C4 that I am aware of. Short of pulling out my trany and counting the splines on the input shaft, was there a typ shaft they used on the 1968. And also, I am not sure if it is the original trany. Are there castings that will tell me the production year? I also realize it could have been rebuilt using a different shaft somewhere down the line. Is there a tag on the trany that will tell me the spline count? ANy and all help is appreciated. If you were wondering, I plan on getting a 3,000 RPM stall
I need at least a 2500 for my cam and what the heck, I love shredding tires.

That's going to be a hard call I think. I think the only info you will find is the casting number if there's no tag. Seeing you're going to pull the tranny anyway, why not wait. Pull it and you will know for sure what you have, no guessing.
