Default window problems again.

Ok guys. I asked this a year or more ago, but didn't get any good answers. My regulator arm keeps coming off of my window scissors assembly. What is worn out? the reg. arm, or the scissors? or does a clip hold the arm on the scissors? Im getting tired of having to pull off my door panel, it's starting to look bad.[:@]

IIRC (and this goes back about 15 years), at the end of the scissor arm was a stud that goes through a hole on the regulator arm. I think the end of that stud had a grove that used a clip similar to the window roller. If the grove is worn out, you can cut a new groove with a Dremel and cut off wheel, then use a real thin wave washer to back up an "e" clip (which is what I think I did).
To be honest, I can't remember if it was a Fairlane, Mustang or Cougar I did this on though.
I remember it wasn't too dificult to remove the whole mechanism.
Sorry, I can't be of more help. My suggestion would be to remove the whole thing, clean it up, fix it if you can and lube it with some synthetic grease, then reinstall it.

Good luck,

THAT IS SOOO MUCH HELP.. i always wondered if there was a clip or not. The only thing is, there is hardly no room to install a clip without dropping it. but now i can work on it, afteri get new rollers for it.

Yeap thats your problem. I had the same problem last summer and I just bought new rollers and clips. It was a pain in the *** to get those tiny clips on though.
